Visa Application Centres in India have reopened to take biometrics for Temporary Foreign Workers

The Visa Application Centres (VACs) in India are continuing their gradual re-opening. After being closed since mid March of 2020, limited biometrics for international students and family class applicants started back up in November.  Beginning today, January 20, 2021, the VACs in India have opened to take biometrics for the following types of applicants:  family class priority, study permits, work permits, returning workers and returning students. 

Please note that appointments for biometric enrollments can only be booked via webform and additional safety measures may be implemented to ensure the health and safety of applicants.

Once requested, passports may only be submitted to the VACs by way of post or courier and they will be returned via VAC’s courier service.
